If your solid state drive (SSD) cannot be displayed when entering PE (Preinstallation Environment), there may be the following possible reasons and solutions:
Missing driver: The correct driver for your SSD may not be available in the PE environment. In some cases, you need to manually load or add the appropriate driver. You can try to download the latest driver from the hardware manufacturer's official website, place it in the PE environment, and then try to reboot.
SSD is not initialized or partitioned: If your SSD is new or cannot be recognized after reinstalling the operating system, it may need to be initialized or partitioned in the PE environment. You can use disk management tools such as the DiskPart command in Windows PE to perform these operations.
BIOS setup issues: Check your computer's BIOS settings to make sure the SATA mode is set to AHCI (Advanced Host Controller Interface). Sometimes, setting it to IDE mode may cause the SSD to not display in the PE environment.
Energy-saving mode or sleep state: Some SSDs will enter energy-saving mode or sleep state after being idle for a period of time. In a PE environment, this may cause the SSD to not be recognized correctly. You can try to resolve this issue by restarting your computer or changing the SSD's power management settings.
Other hardware faults: If the problem still cannot be solved after the above steps, there may be other hardware faults or compatibility issues. It is recommended to contact your computer manufacturer's technical support for more specific help and guidance.
Please note that before making any changes, please make sure to back up important data and operate with caution to avoid unnecessary losses.
