How to implement article search function through PHP and Typecho

In modern websites and blogs, search functions have become extremely important. Readers can directly find the content they are interested in through the search function, saving time and energy. This article will introduce how to use PHP and Typecho to implement the article search function, and provide code examples.

First, we need to make sure that Typecho is installed and that there are already some articles to search for. Next, we need to create a custom page in the Typecho backend to display search results.

Create a search page
First, click "Appearance" -> "Page" in the Typecho backend, and then click the "New" button. In the page editor, fill in the title and content of the page. For example, the title can be filled in as "Search Results", the content can be left blank, and then click the "Publish" button to save the changes.

Next, click "Appearance" -> "Navigation" to add the newly created search results page to the navigation bar so that users can easily access the page.

Implementing the search function
Now we need to create a search form to enable users to enter search keywords and submit search requests. In the Typecho theme folder, find and edit the sidebar.php file.

Add the following code snippet to the sidebar.php file at the appropriate location to add a search form to the sidebar:

<form id="search-form" action="<?php $this->options->siteUrl(); ?>" method="post">
    <input type="text" id="search-input" name="s" class="text" placeholder="请输入关键字" required />
    <button type="submit" class="submit">搜索</button>
</form>

This code creates a search box and submit button form, and set the action attribute of the form to the homepage URL of the website. When the user submits a search request, the form data will be sent to the homepage via POST.

Next, we need to process the search request and display the search results in the homepage template (usually index.php). In the appropriate location of the index.php file, add the following code segment:

<?php
if ($this->is('search')) {
    $this->archiveTitle('搜索结果:', ',共找到 %d 篇文章');
}
?>

This code will display the search result information in the title position of the search results page, such as "Search results: keywords, a total of X articles found Articles" (where X is the number of search results).

Finally, we need to add the code to display the search results to the search results page (the custom page created earlier). Find and edit the template file for your custom page, usually page-search.php.

In the appropriate location of the page-search.php file, add the following code segment:

<?php if ($this->have()): ?>
    <?php while($this->next()): ?>
        <article>
            <h2><?php $this->title(); ?></h2>
            <p><?php $this->date(); ?></p>
            <p><?php $this->content(); ?></p>
        </article>
    <?php endwhile; ?>
<?php else: ?>
    <p>没有找到相关文章。</p>
<?php endif; ?>

This code will check whether there are search results and display them accordingly. If there are search results, the title, date and content of each article will be displayed in a loop; if there are no search results, the prompt "No relevant articles found" will be displayed.

Now, through the above steps, we have successfully implemented the article search function. Users can use the search form in the sidebar on any page of the website, enter keywords and submit a search request, and find relevant articles in the customized search results page.

I hope this article can help you successfully implement the article search function. Good luck with your programming!

Explain how load balancing affects session management and how to address it.Explain how load balancing affects session management and how to address it.Apr 29, 2025 am 12:42 AM

Load balancing affects session management, but can be resolved with session replication, session stickiness, and centralized session storage. 1. Session Replication Copy session data between servers. 2. Session stickiness directs user requests to the same server. 3. Centralized session storage uses independent servers such as Redis to store session data to ensure data sharing.

Are there any alternatives to PHP sessions?Are there any alternatives to PHP sessions?Apr 29, 2025 am 12:36 AM

Alternatives to PHP sessions include Cookies, Token-based Authentication, Database-based Sessions, and Redis/Memcached. 1.Cookies manage sessions by storing data on the client, which is simple but low in security. 2.Token-based Authentication uses tokens to verify users, which is highly secure but requires additional logic. 3.Database-basedSessions stores data in the database, which has good scalability but may affect performance. 4. Redis/Memcached uses distributed cache to improve performance and scalability, but requires additional matching

mPDF

mPDF

mPDF is a PHP library that can generate PDF files from UTF-8 encoded HTML. The original author, Ian Back, wrote mPDF to output PDF files "on the fly" from his website and handle different languages. It is slower than original scripts like HTML2FPDF and produces larger files when using Unicode fonts, but supports CSS styles etc. and has a lot of enhancements. Supports almost all languages, including RTL (Arabic and Hebrew) and CJK (Chinese, Japanese and Korean). Supports nested block-level elements (such as P, DIV),
