Taking the Tesla humanoid robot Optimus as an example, there are 28 frameless motors and 12 coreless cup motors in an Optimus. According to Minsheng Securities, the cost of permanent magnet materials for coreless motors accounts for about 50% of the motor cost, and the amount of permanent magnet materials will not be reduced during mass production.

The agency stated that each Tesla humanoid robot requires 3.5KG NdFeB permanent magnets, which is 1.75 times that of a new energy vehicle. In the future, humanoid robots may replace new energy vehicles and become a new growth point in the demand for rare earth permanent magnets. Optimistically, the demand for high-performance NdFeB in the global robotics industry will be 61,000 tons in 2025, and the market size of high-performance NdFeB in the global robotics industry in 2025 will be 30.5 billion yuan.
