It's easy to set your preferred band to get the most out of your WiFi.
Method 1 – Set Preferred Band
Step 1 –First, use the Windows X keys together.
Step 2 –Open “Device Manager” to open it.
Step 3 –After opening the Device Manager page, find “Network Adapter”.
Step 4 – Expand it to view all network adapters on the computer.

Step 6 –Go to the “Advanced” tab.
Step 7 –Select “Preferred Band” or “Bandwidth” from the left pane. Then, set "Value:" to "Preferred 5 GHz Band" from the drop-down list.
Step 8 –Don’t forget to click “OK” to save the changes.
This way you can set 5 Ghz bandwidth for your device. To take full advantage of dual-band WiFi, connect to a 5Ghz WiFi router.
Method 2 – Change Wireless Value
Don’t see the preferred bandwidth in the network adapter settings? Don't worry. There is another way to do the same thing. You have to adjust the wireless mode to get the same results.
Step 1 –The fastest way to open Device Manager involves using the Win X key.
Step 2 –Then use “Device Manager” to open it.
Step 3 –Just like the previous method, find and expand “Network Adapters” .
Step 4 –If you have multiple WiFi adapters, determine which network card you are using. Then, right-click on the WiFi card and click on "Properties".
Step 5 –Switch to the “Advanced” tab.
Step 6 –Select “Wireless Mode” from the left pane.
Step 7 –Set the value mode to “IEEE 802.11a” or “802.11ac”. If you see any of these wireless modes not available in this list, your WiFi card does not support the 5 Ghz band.
