There are many AI-based generative art creators, from Midjouney to Bing Image Creator and more. Generating these types of images can take some time, depending on text prompts and other factors.
Snapchat parent company Snap today announced that its Snap Research division has developed a new technology that speeds up the generation of images for generative AI art creation.
Snap calls this new method SnapFusion, which uses generative artificial intelligence to reduce image creation time to less than two seconds. They claim this is "the fastest published by academia to date."
Snap added in the blog post:
Snap Research achieved this breakthrough by optimizing the network architecture and denoising process to make it highly efficient while maintaining image quality. As a result, the model can now be run on a mobile device to produce clear images based on textual prompts, rather than taking minutes or hours as other studies have shown.
The research paper details how SnapFusion works and shows multiple examples of artwork created using this new technology. The paper points out:
Specifically, we propose an efficient UNet by identifying redundant parts of the original model and reducing the computation of the image decoder through data distillation. To enhance step distillation, we also adopt an exploratory training strategy and introduce a regularization method without classifier guidance.
However, Snap said it will still take some time before this new method is available to ordinary users. However, they added that the technology "has the potential to significantly enhance high-quality generative AI experiences on mobile devices." This new technology is likely to be included in a future update of the Snapchat mobile app. This is Snap’s new attempt to embrace generative AI. Snap previously expanded the availability of its “My AI” assistant to all users. However, the actual situation shows that users do not like this change very much, but it has attracted a lot of negative comments.

mPDF
mPDF is a PHP library that can generate PDF files from UTF-8 encoded HTML. The original author, Ian Back, wrote mPDF to output PDF files "on the fly" from his website and handle different languages. It is slower than original scripts like HTML2FPDF and produces larger files when using Unicode fonts, but supports CSS styles etc. and has a lot of enhancements. Supports almost all languages, including RTL (Arabic and Hebrew) and CJK (Chinese, Japanese and Korean). Supports nested block-level elements (such as P, DIV),
