Pinwan News on May 23, according to Meta official news, Meta recently announced that it will launch the first generation of AI inference custom chip MTIA v1.
According to reports, MTIA is an ASIC chip that can be programmed to perform single or multiple tasks. The first-generation chip MTIA v1 was designed in 2020. It uses TSMC's 7nm process technology, runs at 800MHz, has a TDP of only 25W, an INT8 integer computing capability of 102.4 TOPS, and an FP16 floating-point computing capability of 51.2 TFLOPS. The architecture of the chip consists of PE computing unit, internal cache, external cache, transmission interface and control unit.
Meta said the MTIA chip is expected to be launched in 2025.
