Today Samba reported another major vulnerability. The vulnerability is currently numbered CVE-2015-0240. An uninitialized pointer in the Samba daemon smbd can be exploited remotely. She can allow a malicious Samba client to send a specific netlogon. The packet thus obtains the permission to run smbd, and the default permission of smbd is still the root super administrator.
