In a statement today, Apple announced the launch of its self-repair program, allowing U.S. customers to repair their iPhones at home. To make repairs, Apple offers a $49 rental kit that contains all the tools you need to repair an iPhone 12 or iPhone 13 series model and the third-generation iPhone SE, and perhaps surprisingly, the kit is quite large.

According to Apple's self-repair website, the rental kit consists of two boxes, one weighing 43 pounds and the other 36 pounds. The boxes are stacked on top of each other and are 20 inches wide and 47 inches high. Thankfully, both cases include wheels for easy transport.

On the website, Apple details what's inside each case, including the battery and display, protective cover, and screwdriver. When repairing a third-generation iPhone SE, customers will only receive a case with tools designed for the smaller iPhone.
