How to create a Git commit branch

Git is a version control tool that allows developers to collaborate on a project. The main branch of Git is master, but when developing a project, you usually need to create some other branches outside the main branch for different development tasks or to fix problems. Here are the steps on how to create and commit a branch in Git.

  1. Create a branch

In Git, creating a branch requires using the following command line:

$ git branch <new-branch>

Among them, <new-branch> is the name of the branch you want to create. For example, if you want to create a new branch named "feature", you can use the following command: </new-branch>

$ git branch feature
  1. Switch branch

After creating a branch, you need Switch to this branch to continue development work. You can switch to a new branch using the following command line:

$ git checkout <new-branch>

For example, if you want to switch to a new branch named "feature", you can use the following command:

$ git checkout feature
  1. Start development

After creating and switching to a new branch, you can start developing. In this branch, you can add, modify, and delete files, and commit these changes.

  1. Submit branch

After completing the development of the branch, you need to submit the branch to your Git repository. Use the following command to commit a branch:

$ git push origin <new-branch>

where <new-branch></new-branch> is the name of the branch you created. For example, if you want to commit to the branch named "feature", you can use the following command:

$ git push origin feature
  1. Merge branch

If you have completed the development work in the branch, And this work has been evaluated as meeting the requirements, then this branch can be merged back into the main branch. Use the following command to merge branches:

$ git merge <new-branch>

where <new-branch></new-branch> is the name of the branch you want to merge back to the main branch. For example, if you want to merge the branch named "feature" back to the main branch, you can use the following command:

$ git merge feature
  1. Delete branch

After completing the merge of the branch, You can delete this branch. Use the following command to delete a branch:

$ git branch -d <new-branch>

where <new-branch></new-branch> is the name of the branch you want to delete. For example, if you want to delete the branch named "feature", you can use the following command:

$ git branch -d feature

These are the steps to create and commit a branch in Git. Through these steps, you can better manage and maintain your projects while working as a team.

Optimize Git configuration: Increase the POST buffer size (git config --global http.postBuffer 524288000), and reduce the low-speed limit (git config --global http.lowSpeedLimit 1000). Use a Git proxy (such as git-proxy or git-lfs-proxy). Try using a different Git client (such as Sourcetree or Github Desktop). Check for fire protection
