Windows 11 Build 22593 动手:文件资源管理器更新了新的变化

Windows 11 Build 22593 is now available to testers in the Dev and Beta channels, and it includes all changes planned for release with version 22H2. This update comes from the Nickel branch (ni_nickel), which does not include support for tabs in File Explorer, but there are a number of fixes included in this patch.

The update is shown as "Windows 11 Insider Preview 22593 (NI_RELEASE)" and comes with some changes to File Explorer. Unlike previous versions, today's version contains no breaking changes, and all improvements or fixes are tied to version 22H2 (Fall 2022 Update).

As one of the updates released today, the quick access label in the left sidebar has been updated to "Home". The move comes after Microsoft confirmed plans to integrate Office 365 and OneDrive into File Explorer and populate it with content from linked accounts.

The name "Quick Access" now stands for the Pinned/Frequently Used Folders section. Likewise, the Pinned Files feature is now called Favorites. According to Microsoft officials, the purpose of this is to make File Explorer consistent with Office and OneDrive.

Additionally, recent and pinned files can now be searched directly from the search box, and Microsoft will pull results from Office, so you can also find Office files that have been recently shared with you.

Improvements in Windows 11 Build 22593

As mentioned at the beginning, Windows 11 Build 22593 is just a small update that mainly fixes bugs. However, there are some improvements/fixes worth mentioning.

Microsoft says it will pin its journal to the pen menu by default. If you don't have the app installed yet and click the option in the Windows 11 Pen menu, the app will be installed on your device. For those who don't know, Journal started as an experiment in the Microsoft Garage Project and now it's part of the operating system.

In Build 22593 or later, you can press WIN Z and see a snapshot layout with an associated number, so you can easily use the numeric keys to select a layout.

Focus or Focus Assist as event highlights have been updated to 5-minute increments for all content within the half-hour period to focus session length options.

In terms of security, Microsoft will notify users to turn on the memory integrity function in the operating system. For those who don't know about this feature, the Memory Integrity feature prevents attackers from inserting malicious code into high-security processes. This feature can be found in "Device Security > Core Isolation" in Windows Security Settings.

If the feature is turned off, you will receive a new notification so that you can turn it back on,

Last but not least, Microsoft has updated the ADLaM keyboard layout to Added access to brackets and ADLaM Hamza.
