Apple announced today in a support document that macOS Server will be discontinued on April 21, 2022. After years of phasing out, Apple is finally ready to shut down macOS Server for good.
macOS Server 5.12.2 will be the last version of the application, and the macOS Server service has now been migrated to macOS. Since macOS High Sierra, popular macOS server features including cache server, file share server, and time machine server have been bundled in macOS, so standalone applications are no longer required.
Existing macOS Server users can continue to download the app and use it with macOS Monterey, and Apple provides support documentation for migrating from Profile Manager to other MDM solutions.
