Apple Maps partners with HAAS security cloud to improve road hazard alerts
Apple’s Maps app in the U.S. integrates real-time road hazard information from the HAAS Alert Safety Cloud, allowing the app to better notify users of impending safety issues.
According to a blog post announcing the integration, HAAS Security Cloud is “the most comprehensive and trusted digital alert platform for road safety.”
Drivers who approach emergency vehicles, incident responders, work zones and other hazards on roads powered by Safety Cloud will now receive alerts in Apple Maps. Digital alerts about impending hazards on the road can improve driver safety and reduce the risk of a crash.
Jeremy Agulnek, senior vice president of connected cars at HAAS Alert, said the company applauds “Apple for prioritizing driver safety and taking steps to achieve its Vision Zero goal of eliminating all traffic deaths and serious injuries.”
Maps apps have been issuing safety alerts for upcoming road hazards for some time, but adding information from the HAAS Safety Cloud will make alerts more comprehensive.
