Windows 11 Build 22000.651 brings faster startup speed and more feature enhancements

Windows 11 Build 22000.651 is now rolling out to users in the Release Preview channel as the tech giant prepares the next optional update for the operating system. This is an optional update available only to testers, and it will begin rolling out to non-Insiders based on initial feedback from users.

Build 22000.651 doesn’t add new features for consumers, but Microsoft says it adds some improvements for businesses, including new changes to servicing Windows’ Secure Boot component. Likewise, Microsoft is fixing an issue that causes the AppX Deployment Service to stop working when we use certain MSIX applications.

This update mainly contains enterprise-specific fixes, but there is an interesting fix related to the performance of any device. According to the release notes, Microsoft has fixed a rare bug where the operating system would get stuck in the startup screen as Windows 11 starts up with a delay of approximately 40 minutes.

We don't know what's wrong with Windows 11's startup process, and there are performance-focused fixes. For example, the company fixed a race condition where the operating system would fail to boot with a "Blue Screen of Death error" during Windows startup.

Keep in mind that this is only an optional preview update for Windows Insiders, regular consumers will get the same patch in a week or two.

Preparations for Sun Valley 2 are underway

Microsoft is preparing Sun Valley 2 (version 22H2) for Windows 11 for the Release Preview channel, and we expect an official release within a month or two Announcement/Confirmation.
