Microsoft releases new Office Insider updates for Android users every month. Continuing the trend, the software company has released a new version of Office for Android users.
The new Office Insider update is version number 16.0.15128.20058 and adds some new features for Word and OneNote. However, the new Office update does not bring other changes, bug fixes, and improvements.
The latest Office Insider update allows users to quickly switch to light mode if they don’t like the dark mode in the background of a document. While writing a document, users will now see a new option called "Switch to light background" in the More options menu in the upper right corner. According to Microsoft, many users have requested this feature.
Another new feature is voice dictation in OneNote. With new dictation features, OneNote users can now record their thoughts using their voice on Android phones. According to Microsoft, dictation is three times faster than typing. To enable this feature, click the microphone icon in the lower right corner of the screen.
All of these features are currently available in the latest Insider Program version of Office for Android. However, these new features will also be available to non-Insiders once testing is complete. Because these features are in preview, you may notice some bugs when using them.
