Following iOS 15.5 and macOS Monterey 12.4, Apple today released Swift Playgrounds 4.1, the latest version of the iPad and Mac app designed to teach users how to code and build apps.
On Mac, Swift Playgrounds 4.1 adds many new features, including support for building Mac apps using SwiftUI in macOS 12.4 or later, and guidance that teaches the basics of building SwiftUI apps Walkthroughs, real-time updates as changes are made in App Preview, and App Store Connect integration to upload completed apps to the App Store.

Swift Playgrounds 4.1 introduces new features, content, and bug fixes. New features include:

- Apps built with Swift Playgrounds run and install to the Apps folder

- Project-wide search finds results across multiple files
- Snippet library provides hundreds of SwiftUI controls, symbols, and colors
- Swift Package support allows you to include publicly available code to enhance your apps
- App Projects let you easily move projects to Xcode and back
Swift Playgrounds The iOS version of 4.1 doesn't add that many new features, but it does include a new "Continue in App" feature to help users better understand how data moves within SwiftUI apps. It also adds "Animate Shapes" to teach users how to create, modify, and animate shapes, and it also includes "Capture Photos," which provides an advanced look and feel for creating cameras.
