Recently, when developing the uniapp applet project, I encountered a very annoying problem: setting the applet update is invalid.
In the development of small programs, we often need to let users of the small program use the latest version of the program to ensure that the function operation is not restricted. However, setting up applet updates in uniapp is very effective in most cases, but sometimes it fails to update. In this article, I'll share the causes and solutions I encountered.
1. Cause of the problem
First of all, we need to understand the update mechanism of small programs in uniapp. Roughly speaking, the update of the uniapp applet is divided into two methods: forced update and non-forced update. Under forced update, mini program users need to force update before they can continue to use the program; under non-forced update, the program can be used normally, but there is an update prompt.
The way to set up the mini program update in uniapp is through the configuration of the uni-app version number in the manifest.json file. We generally set the version number of the program in the manifest.json file. When prompted to update, we will update the version number in manifest.json so that the update can take effect.
However, during my actual development process, I found that I could not update. Looking back, I found that the cause of the problem was that the mini program version number I set did not take effect in the manifest.json file.
2. Solution
Next, I will share with you the solution I tried.
- Check the manifest.json file
In the root directory of the program, we will find a manifest.json file, which contains the version of the mini program information. We can open this file and check if the version number is present in it. If it does not exist, we need to add the version number manually.
- Check server configuration
On the server side, we need to check whether the server static cache is turned on. If it is turned on, we need to clear the cache. This is because some servers enable caching by default, causing the updated manifest.json file to not be updated in time.
- Check the mini program review status
Sometimes we will find that the program has been updated, but it still does not take effect. This may be because the program has not yet completed its review and we need to do so before we can update it.
- Check uniapp version
Finally, we need to check if uniapp is the latest version. When investigating the problem, I found that after upgrading the uniapp version, the automatic update of the mini program worked.
Summary
The above is the solution I tried. Of course, since each situation may have different solutions, the process of solving the problem is not a copy-and-paste process. We need to find out the key points of the problem and then analyze and deal with them in detail. Hope this article can be helpful to everyone.

mPDF
mPDF is a PHP library that can generate PDF files from UTF-8 encoded HTML. The original author, Ian Back, wrote mPDF to output PDF files "on the fly" from his website and handle different languages. It is slower than original scripts like HTML2FPDF and produces larger files when using Unicode fonts, but supports CSS styles etc. and has a lot of enhancements. Supports almost all languages, including RTL (Arabic and Hebrew) and CJK (Chinese, Japanese and Korean). Supports nested block-level elements (such as P, DIV),
