Study finds more working PCs finally ready to receive Windows 11 upgrade

Back a few months ago, when Windows 11 wasn’t yet generally available, a Lansweeper survey purportedly involving 30 million devices found that most enterprise PCs weren’t ready for it yet. Windows 11 is ready.

But according to a recent report from Riverbed, things are finally starting to look up. In the report, titled "The State of Digital Experience Report, Q1 2022," systems from more than 2 million enterprise devices were analyzed to assess their readiness for Windows 11.

Perhaps somewhat surprisingly, the report found that nearly one in five PCs (19.45%) still do not have the minimum 64GB storage requirement. Another fifth of devices (20.75%) are non-compliant with TPM requirements, with half (10.04%) requiring complete replacement due to a lack of TPM 2.0. Therefore, these machines may be running Ryzen 1000 series or Intel 6/7th generation and earlier processors.

Overall, less than a quarter (22.29%) of workplace computers can be upgraded to Windows 11, with about half (12.23%) requiring a complete replacement.
