How to enable updated widgets in Windows 11 build 25324

  1. Download ViVeTool from GitHub and extract the files into a convenient and easy-to-find folder.
  2. Press Win X and select Terminal (Admin).
  3. Switch the Windows Terminal to the Command Prompt profile using the Ctrl Shift 2 shortcut or click the down arrow button at the top of the window. Windows 11 may soon let you move Windows Widgets to the right
  4. Use the CD command to navigate to the folder containing the ViveTool files. For example, if you have placed the ViveTool in C:\Vive, type CD C:\Vive.
  5. Type vivetool /enable /id:43214488 and press Enter key.
  6. Restart your computer.
  7. Go to Settings > Personalization > Taskbar > Taskbar Behavior and set Taskbar Alignment to Left.
  8. Watch Windows widgets go to the other side of the taskbar.

As usual with articles like this, the updated "Widget Entry Point" (that's what Microsoft calls the widget button on the taskbar) is a bit premature - click it or press Win A still causes the widget board to slide from the left. Maybe Microsoft will address this issue in a future update.
