Apple will launch a high-end Mac mini this year, as well as a 27-inch Apple external monitor. Updates to the iMac Pro and Mac Pro are not suggested to arrive until 2023.
The Apple external monitor is clearly more affordable than the Pro Display XDR, in part because it's smaller and less technologically advanced, such as the lack of mini-LED backlight technology.
The 2023 roadmap for the iMac Pro and Mac Pro is somewhat disappointing given Apple's originally announced plan to transition all of its products within two years.
Apple started the M1 transition in October 2020, so we expect it to end by the end of 2022. However, the company could face production delays, especially given the ongoing chip shortage and widespread COVID-related disruptions, since it made its initial claims.
The launch of a more powerful Mac mini this year confirms previous rumors as Apple looks to replace remaining Intel Mac mini configurations with Apple Silicon options. In fact, a higher-end Mac mini with the M1 Pro and M1 Max chips inside is expected to arrive as soon as next week at Apple's 'Peek performance' event on March 8.
Apple is developing "Mac Studio" and the accompanying Studio Display. The Studio Display is expected to feature a 7K resolution panel and could be the successor to the Pro Display XDR. What Kuo seemed to hint at in his tweet is that Apple is also preparing to launch a separate low-end display aimed at the mass market.
