Apple today updated the Apple Support app designed for iPhone and iPad, introducing a new feature that provides price estimates for common repairs at specific locations.
When using the Support app after installing the update, you can tap a device you own in the My Devices list and select Repair and Physical Damage to see a list of options .
Click on common repairs like a cracked screen, cracked back, or battery service to get an estimate of repair costs and the option to book the repair. There are no cost estimates for more complex repairs such as liquid damage or a camera that doesn't work as expected.
In the My Devices section, Apple has also added a new text input box when you click on a device. This box lets you tell Apple what's happening with your device in your own words, making it easier to find the support options you need.
The Apple Support app has always had similar options for selecting a specific fix, but now you can enter what you're looking for ahead of time for a more streamlined experience. Full release notes for Apple's update are below:
- Tell us what's happening in your own words to get relevant support options
