Apple’s upcoming iMac Pro with mini-LED display may launch in June. Apple has been developing a larger-screen iMac for months, and if the June timeline is accurate, it could debut at WWDC.
Initial rumors suggested that a new iMac might launch in the spring, but Young said in late January that he was looking forward to a "summer" launch. It was expected to begin in June, with a release likely to follow in August or September, but he appears to have moved up the timeline.
The 27-inch iMac will be sold alongside the 24-inch iMac as a higher-end version, which could be called the iMac Pro in order to align it with the MacBook Pro. It will feature mini-LED backlighting, and it's expected to have "approximately 1,000 zones" and "over 4,000 miniLEDs."
In addition to the mini-LED display, the iMac is expected to feature a redesigned exterior and the same M1 Pro and M1 Max chips introduced in the 2021 MacBook Pro models.
