Many iPhone users have reported an unusual problem on their iPhones. They said a red dot appeared on the iPhone's mobile app icon. They find it annoying and don't know why and what causes the problem.
Although there are no technical issues inside the iPhone due to this red dot on the Phone app and users want to remove this red dot from their iPhone. The main reason behind this red dot is the unread voicemails users receive on their mobile numbers.
If any user is using another SIM card as e-sim on their iPhone, then the voicemails from the other SIM card may be reflected in the iPhone’s Phone app. The simplest solution to get rid of this red spot is explained in the article below.
Step 1: You first have to unlock your iPhone and reach the home screen.
Step 2: Now open the Phone app by tapping on the Phone icon from the home screen as shown in the screenshot below.
Step 3: After opening the Phone app, you will see no recent missed calls in the Recent tab, but you have red dots. Step 4: Go to theVoicemail tab in the lower right corner and click on it.
Step 5: You need to check theVoicemail on your mobile number by clicking on the Call Voicemail option as shown in the image below.
Step 6: It will start dialing the voicemail, if there are any available, listen and clear them. Step 7: Once cleared, you will see the red dot in the Phone app icon disappear from your iPhone. Step 8: If you still see red dots on the phone app, it means there are some voicemails left on another e-sim on your iphone. Step 9: So make e-sim the primary mobile network and clear the voicemail. Step 10: To do this, first open the"Settings" page on your iPhone.
Step 11: Click the "Mobile Data" option, as shown in the picture.
Step 12: Here you will find the SIM card listed, if any, as primary and secondary card. Step 13: Use a backup SIM card by clicking DefaultVoice Line to set it as default.
Step 14: Selectthe "Use "Auxiliary" as the default row option from the list, as shown in the screenshot below.
Step 15: After selecting the secondary number, go to the
Voicemail tab on the Phone app and click on Call Voicemail Option toCall Voicemail as shown in the following screenshot.
Step 16: This will clear all the voices received on both mobile numbers mail.
