According to the "China Robot Industry Development Report (2022)", it is expected that my country's robot market will reach US$17.4 billion in 2022, with a five-year average annual growth rate of 22%.

Four aspects promote the healthy growth of the robot industry

While industrial and technological development is facing good opportunities, the development of my country's robot industry is also facing many challenges. At the core technology level of robots, some core technologies have not yet been effectively broken through, some key technologies have shortcomings, and the "stuck neck" phenomenon still exists; at the product positioning level of robots, the functional positioning of some products is not clear enough, and the application scenarios of robots are insufficient. , similar products are clustered together, the robot has a single function, and the pain points to be solved are not clear enough; in terms of the scale of robot companies, the current leading companies are limited in scale. Compared with industrial robots, the overall revenue scale of leading service robot companies is low.

In this regard, policies must be implemented from multiple angles:

First of all, we must strengthen basic research, form an innovation ecosystem for core robot technologies, and promote a virtuous cycle and development of technology and industry. It is necessary to continue to conquer relevant core technologies to achieve independent controllability, and further conquer core key technologies such as intelligent perception, human-computer interaction, compliant control, operating systems, robot programming and simulation, system integration and application technology. Universities, scientific research institutes and other units and robot companies should closely integrate the "industry, academia, research and application" to jointly tackle key problems. According to the characteristics of multi-disciplinary and multi-field integrated development of robots, a variety of new models of "industry-university-research-application" transformation can be formed to accelerate the application and transformation of cutting-edge innovative results.

Secondly, we must further leverage the leading role of leading robot companies and accelerate the application and promotion of products. We should give full play to the demonstration and leading role of leading enterprises and accelerate the construction of service robot scenarios such as medical and health care, community services, e-commerce unmanned distribution, unmanned vending, commercial cleaning and inspection, so that there will be greater market space for the innovative development of related industries. Focusing on the urgent needs in the fields of epidemic prevention and control, medical rehabilitation, and special services, a green channel mechanism for robot market access will be established, the bidding process will be simplified, and the approval cycle will be shortened while ensuring safety and quality. Strengthen supervision and regulations, give priority to encouraging the marketing and promotion of intelligent robot products that meet certain threshold conditions, and ensure the long-term and stable development of the robot industry.

Thirdly, it is necessary to strengthen the training of talents in the field of robots and explore a new model of robot education that integrates industry and education. Focusing on the urgently needed professional fields of robots, strengthen the training of high-level professional talents with interdisciplinary backgrounds, conduct innovative explorations in the setting of robot-related colleges and majors in universities, establish research platforms such as robot innovation centers, and build a new model of robot academic talent education. Strengthen exchanges and cooperation between schools and enterprises in the field of robotics, break the demand barriers between campuses and the market, set up internship bases in leading robotics companies and advantageous companies, and improve the scale and quality of training for robotics application talents.

Finally, it is necessary to further strengthen the coordinated and stable development of the robot industry chain and supply chain to achieve independent control of the industrial chain. Relying on the intervention of advantageous areas of my country's robot industry, mature park carriers and active capital, we will promote the construction and development of a public service platform for robots in order to provide complete local supply of robots, product certification and quality testing services. We should give full play to the role of robots as industry platforms and alliances, promote the efficient connection between scientific and technological innovation entities such as universities and scientific research institutes and robot application companies, and promote collaborative innovation in the robot industry chain based on problems and needs.
