Stable Diffusion XL is now available—do you know what’s new?

On March 27, Emad Mostaque, founder and CEO of Stability AI, announced in a tweet that Stable Diffusion XL is now available for public testing.

• "XL" is not the official name of this new AI model. The name will be changed once an official announcement from Stability AI Company is made.
• Image quality has been improved compared to the previous version
• Image generation is greatly accelerated compared to the previous version.

To be honest, I feel that this new AI model is not a big improvement. While in some cases it can produce prettier images, it may require some fine-tuning of the settings to make it look stunning. As for speed, I found it to be a bit faster than before, but not a huge change.

Overall, I’m not impressed with the results of the new preview model. MidJourney, Leonardo AI and Microsoft Image Generator have better looking results.

Although Stable Diffusion XL does not appear to be a significant improvement over previous AI models, it has room for further improvement.
