HomeBackend DevelopmentPHP ProblemHow to set up a local php environment in win10

In WEB development, PHP is perhaps one of the most commonly used server-side scripting languages. In order to make development and testing more convenient, I hope to set up a PHP environment on a local computer. How to achieve this? Below are specific step-by-step instructions.

Step 1: Install the Web server

The key to building a PHP environment is to install the Web server. Apache or IIS can be used under Windows systems. Apache is recommended here because it is more flexible than IIS, supports more functions, and is completely free. The specific method is to go to the official website to download the Apache installation package and follow the process to complete the installation. It should be noted that you must choose the installation package that matches your operating system, otherwise an error will occur.

Step 2: Install the PHP interpreter

After installing Apache, you need to install the matching PHP interpreter. Perhaps many people have directly downloaded the PHP interpreter at the beginning, but it must be clear that it is only an independent interpreter and does not have the function of providing HTTP services, so it must be used in conjunction with Apache, otherwise errors will also occur.

The following are the specific installation steps:

1. Go to the PHP official website to download the corresponding version of the installation package.

2. Run the installation package and follow the process to complete the installation. It should be noted that you must select the "Use with Apache" option during the installation process, otherwise the installation will be invalid.

3. After the installation is complete, find the installation directory (default is C:\PHP) and rename php.ini-development to php.ini.

4. Use a text editor to open the php.ini file and make the following modifications:

a. Find extension_dir = "ext", uncomment and modify it to extension_dir = "C:\php \ext".

b. Find the parts about the MySQL and mysqli modules and remove their comments.

5. Finally, add the following code to the Apache configuration file httpd.conf file:

AddType application/x-httpd-php .php

Save the file and restart Apache.

Step 3: Test whether the PHP environment is feasible

After we install the PHP interpreter and perform relevant configurations, we need to test whether the PHP environment can work normally. The specific steps are as follows:

1. Use a text editor to create a new text file and change its name to test.php.

2. In the test.php file, enter the following code:

<?php phpinfo();
?>

3. Store the test.php file in the htdocs folder of the Apache installation directory.

4. Enter http://localhost/test.php in the browser to check whether the PHP related parameter information can be displayed correctly. If everything goes well, we have successfully set up a local PHP environment.

Summary

Building a local PHP environment is not a very difficult thing, you just need to pay attention to some details. First install Apache, then install the PHP interpreter and related modules, and finally perform relevant configuration and testing. By setting up a local PHP environment, we can quickly develop and debug PHP on this machine, which greatly improves work efficiency.
