server survey report has been released. This report can help people understand the number of global websites and server market share.
For this survey, Netcraft received responses from 1,160,964,134 sites, involving 271,960,629 unique domains and 11,974,636 Web-facing computers. This reflects a loss of 8.66 million sites and 217,000 domains, but an increase of 97,400 computers.
Among the top ten vendors, nginx
acquired the largest number of domains and computers this month, maintaining its lead in both metrics. The net growth of its 537,000 domains brings its total number of domains to 73.8 million and increases its market share in this metric to 27.1%
. Combined with the net loss of 573,000 domains powered by Apache

The number of Web-oriented computers running nginx
increased by 80,200 units ( 1.78%
), and its market share That pushed up to 38.3%, while Apache
dropped to 29.0%
. nginx also continues to have the largest website market share (31.1%) despite losing more than half a million for the month.
Out of the top 1 million websites, Cloudflare
had the biggest gain with 3,350 websites as it continues its march towards the lead. Apache
still leads the top 1 million with 229,000 sites, but lost 1,700 sites this month; nginx
leads the list with 218,000 sites after losing 2,250 sites Ranked second. Cloudflare

is the main provider with the most websites this month, with its total number increasing by 1.47 million to 93 million ( 1.61%
), it also gained 6,890 Web-facing computers.
While most top providers lost active sites this month, Pepyaka
saw a significant increase of 1.22 million active sites ( 27.6%
). This server is primarily used by the Wix web development platform, which switched from using nginx in 2018. It is currently the 8th most used web server by active websites and the 11th most used website. The similarity in version numbers since 2018 suggests that Pepyaka
may be based on the mainline version of nginx.
Looking further down, GHS
gained 1.08 million ( 36.7%
) sites and 554,000 ( 35.5%

(Google Hosting Server) is one of Google's proprietary web servers available to websites registered through Google domains. It is also used to redirect traffic from googlepages.com sites created using Google Page Creator. When the site creation service shut down in 2009, existing pages were migrated to Google Sites, which hosts user content in subdirectories under the sites.google.com hostname.
