The PHP development team announced that PHP 7.0.0 Alpha1 will be available immediately. This release marks the beginning of the main PHP 7 series. This is a development preview - DO NOT use it for production!

PHP 7.0.0 Alpha 1 comes with a new version of Zend Engine with the following features: (Incomplete list):

Improved performance of: PHP 7 Runs twice as fast as PHP 5.6

Consistent 64-bit support

Many fatal errors are now exceptions

Remove old and unsupported SAPI and extensions

Empty coalescing operator (??)

Combined comparison operator ()

Return type declaration

Scalar type declaration

Anonymous Class
