In order to provide the best possible experience to older and buggy browsers, Bootstrap uses CSS browsers in a number of different places Hacks use special CSS for specific browser versions to overcome bugs in the browser itself. These hacks naturally cause CSS validators to declare them unavailable. In some places, we also use cutting-edge CSS features that are not yet fully standardized, but use them purely for progressive enhancement. These validator warnings are no production hindrance in practice, because the non-hacky parts of our CSS are fully validated, and the hacky parts used do not prevent the normal functionality of the non-hacky parts. So that's why we deliberately ignore certain warnings.
