Detach the elastic NIC from the instance

You can detach the secondary NIC from the instance, but you cannot detach the primary NIC.

Restrictions

When detaching the secondary network card from an instance, there are the following restrictions:

The secondary network card must be bound state.

The instance must be in stopped or running state.

Prerequisite

Your elastic network card must be attached to an instance. Before detaching an ENI from an instance, the instance must be in Stopped or Running state.

Operation steps

Follow the following steps to detach the secondary network card from the instance:

Log in to the ECS management console.

In the left navigation bar, select Network and Security > Elastic Network Adapter.

Select a region.

Find the bound network card, and in the operation column, click Unbind the instance.

In the Unbind Instance dialog box, confirm the information and click OK.

Refresh the list. When the status of the elastic network card is displayed as available, it means that the elastic network card has been successfully detached from the instance.
