This article introduces how to attach the elastic network card to the instance on the console, and focuses on the specific steps. The content of this article is very compact, and I hope you will study patiently.
Attach an Elastic Network Card to an Instance
You can attach an Elastic Network Card to an instance, but only as a secondary network card.
This article describes how to attach an elastic network card to an instance on the console.
Restrictions
When attaching an elastic network card to an ECS instance, there are the following restrictions:
Only for secondary network cards.
The elastic network card must be available.
The ECS instance must be in stopped or running state.
Elastic network adapters can only be attached to VPC type ECS instances, and the instance and the elastic network adapter must be in the same VPC.
The switch where the elastic network card is located must be in the same availability zone as the ECS instance to which it is attached, because VPC switches cannot span across availability zones.
Only I/O-optimized instance types can be attached with elastic network cards.
An elastic network card can only be attached to one VPC-type ECS instance at a time, but multiple elastic network cards can be attached to one instance at the same time. For the number of elastic network cards that can be attached to each instance type, please refer to the instance type family.
Prerequisites
Before attaching an elastic network card to a VPC type ECS instance, you must complete the following work:
Create an elastic network card.
Make the network card available.
Confirm that the instance can still attach a secondary network card and is in the stopped or running state. For the number of elastic network cards that can be attached to each instance type, please refer to the instance type family.
Operation steps
Follow the following steps to attach the elastic network card to the instance:
Log in to the ECS management console.
In the left navigation bar, select Network and Security > Elastic Network Adapter.
Select a region.
Find the available network card and click Bind Instance in the operation column.
In the Bind Instance dialog box, select the instance and click OK.
Refresh the list. When the status of the elastic network card is displayed as bound, it means the binding is successful.
Follow-up operations
After the elastic network card is successfully attached to the instance, you can perform the following operations:
Remove the elastic network card from Detach and delete the elastic network adapter from the instance.
Modify the elastic network card properties.
For some images that cannot automatically recognize elastic network cards, you need to configure elastic network cards.
