Temporary upgrade bandwidth
Temporary upgrade bandwidth refers to the current billing cycle of prepaid (including annual, monthly and weekly payment) instances, within a specified time period due to certain business reasons. Temporarily increase the public network bandwidth and automatically reduce it back to the original public network bandwidth when the service ends. This feature will not increase the basic public network bandwidth of the instance.
You can use the temporary upgrade bandwidth function to complete the following tasks:
Temporarily upgrade the public network bandwidth.
Description
Basic public network bandwidth refers to the public network bandwidth you purchase when creating an instance, or the public network bandwidth purchased through a prepaid instance upgrade configuration.
If you did not purchase public network bandwidth when creating the ECS instance in Step 2: Use this function to temporarily purchase public network bandwidth, and a public IP address will be assigned to the instance. After the temporary bandwidth upgrade is completed, the allocated public IP address will be automatically released.
When using the temporary upgrade bandwidth function, please note:
Temporarily upgrading the bandwidth will not change the public IP address or private IP address.
Before the bandwidth upgrade end time, if the instance is manually renewed or automatically renewed, the system will renew based on the basic public network bandwidth value.
Usage restrictions
The temporary bandwidth upgrade function has the following usage restrictions:
Only supports prepaid instances, including annual subscriptions Monthly instances and paid weekly instances.
Only the public network bandwidth that is billed based on fixed bandwidth can be temporarily increased, and the public network bandwidth that is billed based on traffic flow cannot be increased.
This function can only be used to upgrade the public network bandwidth and cannot reduce the public network bandwidth.
If you have already performed the renewal and downgrade operation in the current billing cycle, you can only temporarily upgrade the bandwidth after entering the new billing cycle.
Bandwidth can only be temporarily upgraded within the current billing cycle, that is, the bandwidth upgrade end time cannot be later than the expiration time of the current billing cycle.
If you temporarily upgrade the public network bandwidth of a classic network instance from 0 Mbit/s to a non-zero value for the first time, you must restart the instance in the console or use API RebootInstance for the new configuration to take effect.
Operation steps
Log in to the ECS management console.
In the left navigation bar, click Instances.
Select a region.
Select the annual/monthly subscription instance or the weekly payment instance, and in the Operation column, click Upgrade or downgrade the configuration.
In the Configuration Upgrade and Downgrade Wizard dialog box, select Temporary Bandwidth Upgrade and click Continue.
On the Temporary Bandwidth Upgrade page, set the target bandwidth and the applicable time period for bandwidth upgrade.
Click to pay and follow the page prompts to complete the upgrade.
