How to design PHP product library SPU and SKU?

The product library design of my current system is really bad. Product specifications, colors, and models are all fixed fields. As a result, N products of the same product with different colors need to be recorded. For example, an Apple 6 needs to be recorded separately. Products in various colors (Apple 6 gold, silver, black).
After reading the concept of SPUSKU online, I feel it should be the perfect solution.
