Gains on the road ahead
It has been more than a month since I came to Band of Brothers. In this month, I just completed the study of the first phase of the project, which is a good time to make a summary and plan the second phase.
Before coming to Band of Brothers, I was always confused. I didn’t know what to do well. I was always driven by life. I had to work because I wanted to live. In addition, I didn’t have any skills or work experience when I first came out. Almost zero. At that time, I just made money by selling my time. Therefore, I have been searching for my own direction in my heart. Because the direction is unclear, I feel even more confused. I went back to rest for a while. During this period, I took a driver's license test and decided that I wanted to learn a skill and use my brainpower to support myself in the future. Then I reviewed my strengths and interests. I found that I was more interested in IT technology, so I searched online to find which technologies were better and had better employment prospects. I found that PHP was good and the average salary was higher than other industries. After searching Baidu again, I found that Band of Brothers provides very good training in this area, and even launched a 0-tuition model. So here I am!
However, I have not done this kind of work in the two years after graduation. I also majored in chemical engineering. I only learned a little C language during college and passed the Level 2 C test. However, it has been three or four years. Those I have almost forgotten the knowledge, and I am inevitably a little worried that my poor foundation will make it difficult to learn this technology well. Despite the worries in my heart, my expectations for the future still defeated this fear. Believe in your self-motivation and you will definitely learn well!
After coming here, I understood the basic class procedures. There are three stages in total. I won’t talk about the last two stages if you haven’t studied them yet. In the first stage, the basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, PHP, and MgSQL was taught. In the first week of class, I learned about HTML and CSS. Before coming here, I only knew that I wanted to learn PHP, and I had never heard of HTML or CSS. I'm drunk just thinking about this. It was extremely difficult to learn at the beginning, as there were many labels that needed to be memorized. The time to complete the code was also unusually long due to hand speed issues. Others were still typing code in the classroom after class. Fortunately, everything I talked about was basic and I could understand it. After spending a lot of time, I also remembered most of the tags and could understand some of the HTML and CSS source codes of commercial websites.
This week, I started to go out early and come back late. I began to gradually develop my own living habits, because if I don’t take the initiative to guide my life, I will be pressured by life. From now on, wake up, wash up, go to class, eat, study by yourself, take a shower and wash clothes, study by yourself, and sleep! This is true every day. I felt very sleepy when I first got up, but I learned that I must develop good habits. After developing habits, the time cost of life will be reduced, and I can devote more time to learning knowledge. I always deviate from my own habits. After the track, I remembered a sentence that inspired me: The hardship of self-discipline is sweeter than the bitter fruit of regret! Over the next 20 days or so, this process gradually intensified. Occasionally I will deviate from this track, and I will adjust during the holidays.
Looking back at this stage now, there is always pain. I feel that the lecturer’s lecture speed is a bit fast and it is difficult to keep up. I see that some of the students around me who have basic knowledge can easily understand the lecturer’s knowledge points, and they are inevitably a little anxious; I see the classmates around me with a typing speed of around 200, and I feel inferior because I am not as good as others! But I believe that all this is only temporary. I am just a little worse now, and our comparison end point is five months later, not now. Thinking of this, I am more determined to develop good habits. But now, a month later, getting up is no longer a problem, and my hand speed has doubled.
In the next three months or so, I will strengthen my belief, because I know that the current stage of study only teaches us some knowledge, and future technologies are always being constantly updated, so while learning basic technologies to complete functions , but also to make learning a habit!
