Collectibles are an important aspect to any open-world adventure, and while Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 certainly has a lot of things to do, they only really have one repeatible collectible: Lost Gestrals. These are some of our favorite little beings, giving some comedic relief to a rather dire and dark world. Unfortunately, some of them are lost out on the vast world, and it’s up to you to track them down and return them to their owner at Camp. Doing so will reward you handsomely.

Lost Gestral Locations

Lost Gestral #1

The first Lost Gestral you will come across is shortly after Flying Waters. It is accessible on your way to the Gestral Village. Instead of progressing through the story, now that you’re in a brand-new area, it’s time to explore. You’re able to create a bridge back to the last area of the overworld, but more importantly, out to the east you’ll find the Lost Gestral. It is directly in front of Esquie’s Nest, a location that is part of the main story after the Gestral Village.

Lost Gestral #2

On your way to the Stone Wave Cliffs with Esquie to find his pet stone Florrie, there is a deviating path to the right. Unfortunately for you, there is a giant Nevron protecting the coast, one that you might need to come back to face. It is also guarding a lost little Gestral to its left, so you will need to defeat this in order to send him back to the camp.

Lost Gestral #3

The third Lost Gestral can be obtained after obtaining Esquie’s ability to swim, which kicks off the second act of Expedition 33. Instead of heading directly to the Forgotten Battlefield, instead head to the west and wrap around a small cove. There will be a rather lush looking island with the White Tree location that can be entered. The Gestral will be on this island chilling with his standard pots.

Lost Gestral #4

The next time you encounter a Lost Gestral is on your way to Monoco’s Station up in the mountains. You will notice that the environment will get a lot snowier the closer you approach the station, but there are two trees that stand out among the waves of pure white snow around the environment. Between these two trees you will find the fourth Lost Gestral ready to go home.

Lost Gestral #5

The next two Gestrals can be acquired anytime after obtaining Esquie’s ability to break through corral that was originally blocking your path. This occurs after going to Old Lumiere, so we may as well start with that one. You will be placed right outside on the beach of Old Lumiere. From here, head northwest to the nearest island of red. The Lost Gestral is located just up and to the west on the beach.

Lost Gestral #6

This will require you to backtrack a little bit. Head back to the east beach near Monoco’s Station, or where you last obtained Lost Gestral #5, head to the west and follow the channel. You will eventually come across an autumn island that you might have explored before with the Coastal Cave. The Lost Gestral is on the northernmost tip of this island and is only accessible by swimming to the beach that was originally blocked by corral. He is located next to some stationary Nevrons.

Lost Gestral #7

The remaining three Lost Gestrals will require Esquie to have learned the ability to fly, meaning you’re in Act III. This is the end of the game, so it’s a good time to clean up any last-minute collectibles or side quests. The first one we’ll talk about is located southwest of where The Paintress was located. This is directly to the east of The Reacher, a location that is only accessible by a side quest with Maelle, and north of The Crows. You will need to fly into this little location.

Lost Gestral #8

The last two are a little bit of a trek to get to as they’re on opposite ends of the map. From the seventh Lost Gestral, head all the way south until you reach the Endless Tower (the giant medallion looking location on the map. Head immediately southwest of the Endless Tower entrance hugging the shoreline, and fly as high as you can until you reach a small piece of flying land. Our little Gestral friend is hiding up here.

Lost Gestral #9

The final Lost Gestral is located in the land we couldn’t go to or even see until you get Esquie’s flying ability. It is located on the continent all the way to the east, past the final Gestral Beach and into the red forest. Our little fiend is hiding out among the red Gestral trees, a seemingly perfect final Lost Gestral if I’ve ever seen one.
