How to help The Small Bourgeon in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

In Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, you'll encounter various creatures, including hostile Nevrons. However, some Nevrons need your assistance, such as The Small Burgeon in the Overworld.

After completing Flying Waters, you'll find The Small Burgeon alone and longing to grow larger. This is where Lune, Gustave, and Maelle's help is crucial. Here's how to aid The Small Burgeon:

Locating the Burgeon's Skin

After Flying Waters, return to the Overworld. Instead of proceeding to the Ancient Sanctuary, go left, around the rocks and trees, to find a portal (pictured below).

A terminal to the portal's left activates a bridge back to the pre-Flying Waters area. The Expedition 53 Flag inside provides fast travel. Continue to meet The Small Burgeon (pictured below).

The Small Burgeon requires "skin" identical to its larger counterparts to grow. This involves defeating a larger Burgeon. The easiest is located in Flying Waters, near the Lumerian Streets fast-travel point (Expedition 48 Flag).

From the flag, turn around and go left between buildings with lampposts. A nearby cave houses the Burgeon. Defeat it quickly to prevent it from consuming your expeditioners (though this doesn't harm them, it reduces your attacking turns).

Give the dropped skin to The Small Burgeon. Return later (simply re-enter the portal) to see its transformation. The Grown Burgeon rewards you with a Colour of Lumina.

Should you attack the Grown Burgeon?

Exhausting dialogue and choosing "Attack" initiates combat. Defeating the Grown Burgeon yields five Colour of Lumina and a Polished Chroma Catalyst. This seems to have no negative consequences.
