The Black Ops Tribute event for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has added a new perk for players to run in Multiplayer. Close Shave gives players a way to recreate the powerful one-hit melee kills that fans remember from old-school CoD titles. How To Unlock The Close Shave Perk

The Close Shave perk is unlocked through the Black Ops Tribute event , which runs from April 17 to May 1. You'll need to earn a total of 32,000 XP during the event to unlock this perk for use in Multiplayer. The XP earnings can be through any combination of game types, not just MP or Warzone. If you want to unlock it quickly, we suggest farming Zombies.

Once the event ends, you'll be able to unlock Close Shave through the Armory Unlocks system. You can view the Armory through the Barracks tab of the Multiplayer menu. Select "Challenges," then the "Armory" subtab to see your options. Select the unlock you want, and all XP you earn will grant progress towards your chosen unlock.

What Does Close Shave Do?

Close Shave is a T1 Enforcer perk that replaces your gun butt animation with a dedicated melee slash, similar to old-school Call of Duty games. Any enemy within 2.5 meters of you will be hit by your melee weapon, dealing your equipped melee weapon's damage. The swing speed and lunge range are unaffected by your weapon of choice, so aim for something that hits hard.

Everything except the Power Drill, Nunchaku, and Kali Sticks will one-hit kill with Close Shave equipped.

After you perform a melee attack, you will immediately equip your previous weapon. There is a minimal delay before you can fire your weapon again, so be mindful of using your melee attack in a 1v2 scenario. Use a strong melee weapon, get up close to your enemy, and let Close Shave take care of the rest.
