The side quest "Lacrima" in The First Berserker: Khazan is a fun challenge accessible after defeating Trokka. Initiate it via the Spectral Portal Heart of Pell Los, selecting Lake City Aldevir and then Lacrima.
Prepare for encounters with several pesky Failed Creations. This guide details their attack patterns and shows you how to locate key items: the Jarling and a Soulstone.
Completing the Lacrima Quest
Jarling Location
Upon teleporting, activate the Blade Nexus. Daphrona awaits nearby. After speaking with her, head left.
You'll face explosive enemies. Dodge their attacks immediately before impact to avoid the blast radius. Continue onward, encountering more foes, including a larger, unstaggerable enemy. Overcome them and proceed to the bridge where a Failed Creation awaits.
Eliminate smaller enemies first. Use ranged attacks from the bridge's left cover to safely defeat the ranged Failed Creation, focusing headshots and fully charged attacks for maximum damage. Claim the Soul Eater's Scroll.
Proceed left, then left again. Destroy barrels to reveal the Jarling. Loot the nearby chest.
Soulstone Location
Return to the previous room and head east, descending the staircase. Defeat the enemy, absorb the Lacrima, and carefully navigate the left wooden platform, dropping down from its end.
Collect the Ghost Hilt and drop again, facing more explosive enemies and a golem. Defeat them, collect three Netherworld Minerals, and cross the bridge to another Failed Creation. Ranged attacks from behind the slightly higher wall on the left are possible, but may obstruct your view; close-quarters combat is recommended.
Defeating Failed Creations
Close-range combat with these enemies requires constant vigilance. Prioritize smaller enemies before engaging the Failed Creation.
Quest Completion
Use the wooden platform to cross, absorb more Lacrima, and defeat another Failed Creation before reaching the final Lacrima. Descend the stairs, activate the Blade Nexus, and face the final boss – another Failed Creation. Prioritize smaller enemies before engaging the boss, using strategic movement to avoid fire attacks.
Upon victory, you'll receive Transmutation Mist, Transmutation Shard, a random weapon or accessory, and a random piece of the Great General Set.
