There are not many side quests in Issu: Firgana's Vow, but the rewards of a few quests can greatly help the subsequent game. One of them is the Night Fire Gem, and while not required to complete the game, it is very practical in some levels, such as providing lighting in abandoned mines or revealing a collapsed platform in the Castle of Valstein.

It takes several steps to get this item, and the game does not clearly state that Ador is looking for. It happens to be the reward for returning Bob's pendant to Ada (an old woman not very friendly at first in a Redmont house).

Trigrey Quarry

Bob's pendant is located in a treasure chest in the Trigrey Quarry, and Ador will most likely see it before he arrives. Once you enter the quarry, keep going to the right until you reach the main mine. Jump to the bottom, go out to the right, and keep going left until you reach some stairs. After walking up the stairs, walk left until you see a broken bridge. There is an attractive treasure chest opposite the bridge, but even Ador's superb jumping ability cannot reach it, at least not now. Note this position and come back later.

Lava area

Shortly after solving the problem of the Trigrey Quarry, Ador will find himself in the ruins of Ilburns. Things didn't go exactly as planned, and he found himself in a lava area, as uncomfortable as his name was. Walking through this hot place, Ador will eventually get the Wind Bracelet, which allows Ador to use the power of Wind Magic to make himself cross a distance longer than normal jumps. Obtaining this item is part of his normal advance in the area, and once Ador leaves the lava area, he can return to Redmont.

After escaping from the lava area, Ador returns to Redmont, and his next main goal is to explore the abandoned mines at the Trigrey Quarry. Remember the treasure chest you couldn't reach in the Trigrey Quarry?
