New features and improvements to Windows 11: voice summary, Copilot enhancement, picture editing, etc.

The latest update to Windows 11 brings several improvements, covering accessibility, Copilot integration, image editing, and file search. Let's take a look at these exciting new features together.

Voice summary function of Narrator

The built-in screen reader for Windows, the narrator, now has the new "voice summary" feature. This feature allows users to quickly access voice content through simple keyboard shortcuts, track real-time transcription, and copy what the narrator has said recently. Users can use the Narrator key Alt X to open the voice summary window to view the last 500 strings. This window refreshes the text content every time the narrator starts.

Copilot for Windows improvements

  • Wide range of Win C shortcut key support: Win C shortcut keys for opening Copilot are being launched more widely. Users can change this shortcut and other dedicated Copilot keys in Settings > Personalization > Text Input.
  • Voice Launch: The latest version of the Copilot application (version 1.25033.139.0 and later) supports voice launch. This update is being rolled out to the Insider channel through the Microsoft Store.
  • Step-by-step promotion of Win C and Voice Launch: Not all Insider users will get updates immediately.

"Click to Do" preview

  • Start Menu Integration: "Click to do", a feature on Copilot computer that reads screen text and images and works according to content will soon log into the Start Menu. It will appear as "Click to do (preview version)" in the start search of a compatible computer.
  • Multilingual support: "Click to do" now supports intelligent text operations in Spanish and French in addition to English.
  • Bullet List Creation: "Click to Do" now creates a bullet list. Currently supported in English, Spanish and French, Copilot computers for Snapdragon-powered, and Copilot computers for AMD and Intel-powered are coming soon.
  • Localized audit: Smart text operations are now "local audits" to ensure the security of prompts and responses and have replaced cloud endpoints. Since these smart text operations are fully localized, they are also available in the "Click to do" Memories feature.

Enhanced Windows Sharing Features

In the Windows Sharing window, you can now preview shared links or web content. In addition, quick editing and enhancements to local images are added, including cropping, rotating, applying filters, and compressing images to reduce file size.

This feature is available on the Release Preview channel and will be rolled out to the regular version of Windows 11 soon.
