Locating the Quest

Unlike most quests, "Sinkhole Stroll" is discovered organically. Travel west of Coastal Farms, south of Fior mes Iverno, to Maxim's Claim. East of Maxim's Claim, you'll find an abandoned settlement with a large sinkhole at its center. Approach the sinkhole (either via the ruined structures or the cliff) to hear a man calling for help. This triggers the quest.

Descending into the Sinkhole

Reaching the researcher requires navigating a challenging descent. Several drops and precarious roots demand careful movement. After the initial drop, enter the nearby structure to fight off sporelings and a Bruiser. Proceed through the doorway and carefully descend the root, eliminating Small Rock Blights along the way. Once at the bottom, speak to Old Felipe.

Retrieving Felipe's Research

Old Felipe refuses to leave without his research. Two roots lead down to the sinkhole's bottom; take the second root upward. Defeat the sporelings in the next area and locate a journal on the ground. Burn the webbing in the nearby coffin to obtain a Rusty Key.

Use the Rusty Key to unlock a door leading to a treasure chest containing valuable materials, armor, and the Sun and Moon shield. Return to Old Felipe, who will reward you for retrieving his research and depart for Fior mes Iverno. Exit the sinkhole via a newly accessible barred door.
