Mudborne: Heaters, Explained

In Mudborne's frigid Climate Control zone, nestled in the pond's northern reaches, warmth is a precious commodity. Many frogs weren't so fortunate during a recent storm that froze the area solid! Bring a Heater to thaw them out and restore the region.

Heaters are invaluable in Climate Control. Use them to revive frozen frogs, fix the region's malfunctioning machinery, and cultivate heat-loving mushrooms.

Harnessing the Heat

Thawing Frozen Frogs and Machinery

Dendro warns of snow in Climate Control, but much is frozen, including Annura, the Caretaker at Caretaker's Rest (east side of the map). After thawing her with a high Umbrage frog, she'll offer valuable items, including the Heater (traded for three Croakfoots and five Logs). Croakfoots grow in the Climate Control reeds.

Place the Heater to thaw ice within a five-by-five area (Heater centered). Then, add a high Umbrage frog to activate it. Strategic thawing saves frogs and is crucial to the story.

To fix the Climate Control building's machinery (requires thawing three frozen sensors marked with large Xs on the map), you'll need a Cooler to reach them and a Heater (and the right frog) to thaw them. Locations: east of the Forecasting building, south of Caretaker's Rest, and south of Food Storage/Storage pool (near a Frogham Marker).

Cultivating Heat-Loving Mushrooms

The Encyclopedia details mushroom locations, expanding as you harvest spores. Some require increased heat near Cultivators filled with compost:

• Frosty Jacks: Need a Heater in the water.
• Velvet Inverters: Grow in dream world grass.
• Rude Awakening: Similar to Velvet Inverters, but require moisture adjustments.
• Torrential Prunes: Grow in cold weather, requiring heat alteration with high Umbrage frogs.

Frosty Jacks are needed for Compendium story progression.
