This guide details how to locate and conquer the challenging Makino Kurumazuka Kofun puzzle in Assassin's Creed Shadows. While accessible early in the game, entry requires story progression to unlock Yasuke.
Finding and Entering Makino Kurumazuka:
Located in the Izumi Settsu province (the game's starting area), Makino Kurumazuka lies in the northeast, above Yawata Plains on your map. A destructible wall blocks the entrance, requiring Yasuke's explosive barrel-carrying ability. Once you've unlocked Yasuke in the main storyline, use him to carry a barrel to the wall and detonate it with a bow or teppo shot.
Obtaining the Legendary Chest:
Only Yasuke can solve the Kofun's puzzles; Naoe is unable to progress. Inside, you'll find a rare chest (blocked path) and the legendary chest behind it. To reach the legendary chest, follow these steps:
- First Puzzle: Move the box near the initial rare chest to reveal a path. Follow this path, turning left to reach an open area.
- Second Puzzle: Use explosive barrels to breach two walls, progressing further into the Kofun. Remember to maintain distance from explosions to avoid Yasuke taking damage.
- Third Puzzle: Explore the newly opened area: take the left path for a normal chest, then proceed to the right path. Jump down into the water, climb out, and follow the path to the left.
- Fourth Puzzle: Move the box in this area to create a bridge, allowing you to reach the next section.
- Fifth Puzzle: In the next room, there are three paths. Take the left path with a movable box, leading you to the room initially blocked by an immovable box. Here, grab an explosive barrel and return to the main room to destroy the wall.
- Legendary Chest: Once the wall is breached, follow the path and jump down to claim the legendary chest!
