What Is The ORCA Token?

The Orca token (ORCA) is the native cryptocurrency of Orca, one of the first decentralized exchanges (DEXs) launched on the Solana blockchain in February 2021. As a pioneer in the Solana ecosystem, Orca introduced a user-friendly platform for token swaps, liquidity provision, and yield farming.

Moreover, the ORCA token plays a key role in governance, enabling holders to propose and vote on decisions that shape the platform. It also supports staking, liquidity pools, and rewards, rendering it an essential part of the DEX’s functionality.

The Orca DEX native token saw a significant boost in value on March 21st, gaining nearly 230% during its daily peak. To put it into perspective, this growth has effectively multiplied the value of the token by approximately 3.3 times its value yesterday.

Such a monumental market monument surely must have an underlying reason behind it, right? The cryptocurrency saw this significant boost after the Korean centralized exchange Upbit announced it would be listing ORCA-Korean Won and ORCA-BTC trading pairs on its platform.

According to CoinMarketCap, the currency is now trading at a 90% increase over the last 24 hours, currently valued at $2.96.

Is The ORCA Token Safe?

As a lesser-known altcoin, this token is more subject to volatility, be it for better or for worse. The Orca token has a market capitalization of $164.6 million and a Total Value Locked (TVL) of $258.32 million.
