Unlocking Layered Armor

To unlock layered armor and armor dyes, you must progress through the main story. Once you defeat a flagship monster and reach High-Rank hunts, the customization options will become available.

Equipping Layered Armor

After reaching High-Rank hunts, speak with the blacksmith, Gemma. She will explain how to equip layered armor. Note that lower-rank armor cannot be used for layering; you'll need to hunt higher-level monsters for the desired appearance.

To equip your layered armor, visit your tent in the Base Camp. In the Appearance Menu (the furthest tab on the right), select the "Equipment Appearance" option.
