"Attack on Titan" movie guide: Recommended three viewing orders
Shiningeki no Kyujin has been around the world since its first season in 2013, quickly becoming one of the most popular and acclaimed anime of all time. This series, adapted from the comic of the same name, has received rave reviews for its rich details, exquisite production and consistent appeal.
If you only start watching Attack on Titan in 2025 (or after), we have put together three viewing sequences for you. Or rather, there are three ways to watch. Because, as many of the best media IPs in history, there are arguments for multiple approaches.
If you are planning to watch the main line series of Attack on Titans and its spin-offs, the first two parts of this guide are for you. The first part lists everything in chronological order.
Please note that this method may not be suitable for you. By inserting all supplements precisely in chronological order, you may spoil some content. These supplements were released late, so it is assumed that the audience is already familiar with the main plot.
order | name | Spoiler future plot? |
---|---|---|
1 | No regrets, part one and two | yes |
2 | Season 1, Episode 1-3 | - |
3 | Ilze's Notes | no |
4 | Sudden visitor | no |
5 | Danger | no |
6 | Season 1, Episodes 1-16 | - |
7 | Lost Girl: The Wall of Hina, Goodbye, Parts 1 and 2 | yes |
8 | Season 1, Episodes 17-25 | - |
9 | Season 2, Episodes 1-12 | - |
10 | Season 3, Episodes 1-12 | - |
11 | Lost Girl: Lost in a cruel world | - |
12 | Season 3, Episodes 13-25 | - |
13 | Season 4, Part 1: Episodes 1-16 | - |
14 | Season 4, Part 2: Episodes 1-12 | - |
15 | Season 4, Part 3: Special Chapters 1 and 2 | - |
Now that we’ve marked some non-sequential content that spoils out key storylines, how can newbie Attack on Titans avoid these spoilers and watch everything in the order they ’re expected ?
It's time to make some quick tweaks:
order | name |
---|---|
1 | Season 1, Episodes 1-25 |
2 | Ilze's Notes |
3 | Sudden visitor |
4 | Danger |
5 | No regrets, part one and two |
6 | Season 2, Episodes 1-12 |
7 | Lost Girl: The Wall of Hina, Goodbye, Parts 1 and 2 |
9 | Season 3, Episodes 1-12 |
10 | Lost Girl: Lost in a cruel world |
11 | Season 3, Episodes 13-25 |
12 | Season 4, Episodes 1-16 |
13 | Season 4, Part 2: Episodes 1-12 |
14 | Season 4, Part 3: Special Chapters 1 and 2 |
Suppose you prefer to go straight to the topic. After all, many of the supplements to Attack on Titans are purely supplementary. In fact, Lost in a Cruel World is not even official history—not exactly so. (This is a bit complicated.) And The Sudden Visitor is incredibly funny!
Even so, some supplements are still important, so we not only tell readers to stick to the obvious (season) part of our table above, but also made a third form to be safe.
order | name |
---|---|
1 | Season 1, Episodes 1-25 |
2 | Ilze's Notes |
3 | No regrets, part one and two |
4 | Season 2, Episodes 1-12 |
5 | Season 3, Episodes 1-12 |
6 | Season 3, Episodes 13-25 |
7 | Season 4, Episodes 1-16 |
8 | Season 4, Part 2: Episodes 1-12 |
9 | Season 4, Part 3: Special Chapters 1 and 2 |
If you really want to skip any part related to the stuffing, at least watch Ilzer's Notes. While it is not extremely important, we think it is definitely worth watching – and, unlike other supplements, it was created by cartoonist Isayama.
