Apple unveiled the new M3 iPad Air and a redesigned entry-level iPad (featuring double the base storage and the A16 chip) on Tuesday. Now, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman's Tuesday X post, an M4 MacBook Air is expected to follow on Wednesday:

The MacBook Air refresh is predicted to be largely a performance boost, with the M4 chip being the key change. The existing design and two size options are likely to remain. It's expected Apple will utilize the base M4 chip, reserving the M4 Pro and M4 Max for the MacBook Pro models.

An upgrade to an ultra-wide webcam, hinted at in macOS code, is also a strong possibility.

The M4 chip initially launched in May 2024, powering the seventh-generation iPad Pro.
