The Gible Drop Event in Pokémon TCG Pocket: A Comprehensive Guide
Garchomp has been a fan favorite since its introduction in the fourth generation of Pokémon games. For those building a Garchomp ex deck in Pokémon TCG Pocket, the Gible Drop Event is a must-participate event!
Like previous Drop events, this one offers new cards, updated artwork for existing cards, and rewards to bolster your collection. While it doesn't feature a powerful, unique ex-Pokemon, it does star everyone's favorite chomping companion: Gible!
Drop Events are solo battles held roughly monthly. The Gible Drop Event runs from March 3rd, 2025 to March 17th, 2025, concluding at 12:00 AM CST (check your in-game news for your local time). This two-week event provides opportunities to earn Promo Packs containing unique cards. With five promo cards (including two mechanically unique ones) and Event Stamina recharging every twelve hours, you'll have ample time for approximately 32 battles.
The event introduces five new cards with fresh artwork. Three are reprints from Triumphant Light, and two are entirely new. The event's namesake, Gible, receives a full-art card illustrated by Uninori (a Triumphant Light reprint, but a welcome addition to any Garchomp ex deck).
Other reprints include a Raichu (new art by Kazumasa Yasukuni from Triumphant Light) and Sunshine-Form Cherrim (art from the 2018 Ultra Prism expansion, illustrated by MAHOU).
The unique cards are Nosepass (art by Tomokazu Komiya, originally from Guardians Rising; it can prevent all damage for a turn with a successful coin flip using two Energy) and Staraptor (new art by Hasuno; its Defensive Whirlwind provides a functional 30-damage resistance against Fighting Pokémon).
Four difficulty levels are available, unlocking sequentially. Each offers unique missions and rewards, but the main goal is acquiring Promo Packs (higher difficulties yield better odds; the Expert deck guarantees a pack).
Beginner - Gabite Deck Intermediate - Gabite & Rhyperior Deck Advanced - Garchomp ex & Gliscor Deck Expert - Garchomp ex & Lucario Deck
Detailed breakdowns of each battle, including deck compositions, strategies, and battle task rewards, are provided below. Note that you can complete some Battle Tasks without winning the match itself.
Beginner - Gabite Deck: This simple deck is weak to Grass. A quick Grass-type deck (like Celebi ex/Exeggutor ex) is recommended for efficient completion.

Intermediate - Gabite & Rhyperior Deck: This deck is stronger but slower, retaining the Grass weakness. Your Grass deck from the Beginner battle likely suffices. You can strategically concede after completing tasks to save stamina.
