Monster Hunter Wilds introduces a dynamic world with evolving environments and seasonal changes, a significant departure from previous titles. This guide explains the seasonal system and its impact on gameplay.

Each zone features a day-night cycle and shifts between two seasons: Fallow and Plenty. These seasonal transitions significantly alter the environment and monster behavior.

Fallow Season: This harsh season presents scarce resources and increased inter-monster predation. Smaller monsters exhibit heightened aggression and pack behavior.

Plenty Season: A warmer, richer season with abundant resources. Smaller monsters are less aggressive and easier to isolate. Gathering plants and Endemic Life for HP, stamina, and ailment recovery is more fruitful.

Inclemency: A transitional period between seasons marked by extreme weather (Frostwinds, Sandtide, Downpour) and the appearance of each locale's apex predator.

The world map displays the current time of day, season, and whether Inclemency is occurring – the ideal time to hunt apex predators.

Monster appearances are tied to seasons; some are exclusive to Fallow, others to Plenty. If a monster isn't appearing, check the current season. Apex predators are particularly rare.

While we haven't discovered a method to force seasonal changes in High Rank (they seem to follow a predetermined pattern similar to the time of day), we will update this guide if new information emerges.

Generally, hunting during the Plenty season offers the most favorable conditions. However, this may not always be possible if your target monster only spawns during Fallow.
