Google Tasks: Your Simple Yet Powerful To-Do List Manager
Often overlooked amidst Google's vast app ecosystem, Google Tasks is a surprisingly useful to-do list manager. Accessible across all your devices and constantly improving (including a recent redesign), it seamlessly integrates with other Google services. This guide explores its features on Android and iOS. Simply install the app, sign in with your Google account, and you're ready to start managing your tasks.

- Set Due Date/Time: Use the clock icon to schedule your task.
- Star Important Tasks: Mark priority tasks with the star icon.
- Save: Tap "Save" to create the task.
Edit existing tasks by tapping the task text. Add subtasks (smaller tasks within a main task) as needed. Delete tasks or subtasks using the three-dot menu and selecting "Delete." Mark tasks as complete by tapping the checkbox; completed tasks move to the "Completed" list. Delete all completed tasks via the three-dot menu at the bottom. Reorder tasks by dragging and dropping them. Further options (accessed via the double-arrow icon on Android or the three-dot menu on iOS) include:
- My Order: Manually arrange tasks.
- Date: Group tasks by date, with upcoming tasks at the top.
- Starred Recently: Prioritize recently starred tasks.
Your tasks sync across all your devices.
Managing Multiple Lists
Organize your tasks into multiple lists (e.g., "Shopping," "Work"). Create a new list by tapping the multiple-lines icon in the bottom-left corner, then selecting "Create new list." Name your list and tap "Done." Rename or delete lists using the three-dot menu. Reorder lists (Android only) by dragging and dropping. Lists are displayed at the top of the interface; swipe to navigate. A "New list" option is available on the far right.
Each list maintains separate completed tasks. Access starred tasks from all lists via the star icon. Task ordering options apply to each list. All lists sync across devices. Change a task's list by tapping the task, then selecting the list from the top dropdown menu. Enjoy the enhanced flexibility Google Tasks provides for managing your to-dos!
