Five browser extensions help you say goodbye to the chaos of the tab!

Have you also been confused by the numerous open browser tabs? Tab pages are indeed convenient for us to browse multiple pages at the same time, but when the number expands to dozens, the efficiency will be reduced and it will occupy a lot of computer memory. Don't worry, we've collected five practical browser extensions to help you manage tabs easily and improve efficiency.
OneTab
OneTab provides an extremely simple tab management solution: click on the extension icon, and all tabs will be hidden instantly, but they will remain in the OneTab interface (a separate browser window). You can restore these pages individually, in groups, or at one time. This extension keeps the desktop neat and prevents the browser from taking up too much memory. It also provides additional options to customize how pages are managed, including filtering duplicate tabs and preventing fixed tabs from disappearing.
OneTab Available in Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Safari, free to use.
xTab
For the problem of excessive tab count, xTab provides the easiest solution: limit the number of open tabs. You don't need complex list, link retrieval or tab management capabilities, just set a limit. Once the limit is reached, you can continue to open the new tab, but xTab will start closing the older tab. You can choose the order in which tabs are closed: the least recently used, the least frequently accessed, or the oldest tabs. Alternatively, you can prevent new tabs from opening, which means you have to manually close existing tabs to open new tabs.

ThexTab method does not easily retrieve closed tabs, so it will let you think twice before you can avoid opening new tabs at will. If you find it too strict, remember that fixed tabs and tabs you haven't viewed will not be closed.
xTab Applicable to Chrome, free to use.
Tree Tabs
Tree Tabs does not limit the number of tabs you open, but it provides an alternative view that makes it easier for you to organize them. The tabs themselves will appear as usual in Firefox, but you can also access them through the sidebar. In this view, you can arrange tabs into a tree structure, placing some tabs under other tabs to create a hierarchy. You can even assign categories to tab groups such as sports, banking, or social media.
In the Tree Tabs sidebar, you can also search for tabs, save specific pages for later browsing, and reopen the window you just closed. It is a very useful map that guides you through the tab forest.
Tree Tabs Applicable to Firefox, free to use.
All Tabs Helper
Similar to Tree Tabs, All Tabs Helper opens a tab page to the left of the Firefox interface to view the sidebar. While you can drag and drop tabs to reorder tabs in a list, you cannot organize them into groups. However, in the All Tabs Helper sidebar, you can select multiple tabs at once (hold Shift and click), close the window (click the cross icon next to any entry ) and search for specific pages.

This extension also includes a useful duplicate finder, so you can tell if you have opened the same tab twice. If you need a backtracking step, it can restore the history of the open tab page, showing any unexpectedly closed windows.
All Tabs Helper is suitable for Firefox, free to use.
Mute All Inactive Tabs
Control the tab page not only to reduce confusion. Annoying autoplay video or audio clips are nearly impossible to find and mute when you open too many windows. Mute All Inactive Tabs came in handy. As the name implies, it mutes all open browser tabs except the one you are currently viewing.
If you do need to hear the inactive tab (maybe you are playing some songs through it or playing YouTube videos in the background), right-click the tab title and select Unmute. When you switch to a different tab page, this extension excludes that specific tab page from its rules.
Mute All Inactive Tabs is available for Firefox, free to use.
